The PPM™ is a custom mouthpiece fitted by Pure Power Mouthguard™ certified, Dr. Shirley Cheong and Dr. Kenny Chan at Yonge & Steeles Dental Care, which, when worn while performing physical activity, improves balance, gives greater endurance, better flexibility and increases available strength.

The Pure Power Mouthguard™ can serve as both an appliance to improve performance in sports such as golf, cycling, soccer and weight training, as well as a protective mouthguard for impact sports like boxing, football and hockey.

Getting a PPM™ involves two visits to see Dr. Shirley or Dr. Kenny. During the first visit you sit in a comfortable chair in her dental studio while a TENS unit (Transcutaneous Electro Neural Stimulation) is used to help relax your muscles, putting them in the most comfortable position possible. We then use a computer to find the optimal position of your jaw and an impression is taken.

Two weeks later you return for a much shorter visit to have your PPM™ appliance fitted. The PPM™ is designed to hold your jaw in its optimal position, making sure your jaw muscles and joints are no longer stressed. The result is the best bite alignment possible, improved balance, and increased upper body strength.
